House of Akara creates furniture with distinctive forms and unexpected material combinations. Akara means “form” in Sanskrit — an idea made tangible. Our pieces explore the relationship between proportion, texture and the spaces we live in.

 

Every piece is built and finished by hand in Gurugram. We work with walnut, oak, aluminium, steel, leather and acrylic, paying close attention to the grain, the joint and the way a surface meets light.
